This is a free and voluntary program for parents expecting their first child. A trained registered nurse will visit you in your home throughout the pregnancy and the first two years of your child’s life. Our goals are to prepare you for a healthy pregnancy and birth, promote your child’s physical/mental health, safety, growth and development, and to model healthy relationship building. The nurse will support your life planning that could result in getting a higher education, training and career development.
Eligibility Requirements
The Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) Model is available to residents of Shelby County who are first-time mothers and are eligible for Medicaid or WIC. Expecting mothers must be enrolled prior to the 28th week of pregnancy.
